Subject: Hello
When something has gone wrong, the three things that let us fix it fastest are the project or clip link, the time it happened, and what you expected instead. A screenshot beats a description.
Common questions
A link would not import
Private, members-only, age-restricted and geo-blocked videos cannot be imported, and some platforms rate-limit us. Check the link opens in a private browser window with no account signed in. If it does and the import still fails, send us the link and we will look.
The captions have the wrong words
Transcription is automatic and struggles with heavy background music, overlapping speakers and unusual names. Setting the transcript language explicitly in Settings, rather than leaving it on automatic, is the single biggest improvement for non-English audio. Captions are editable per clip.
I ran out of source minutes
Plans are measured by the length of the video you import, not by how many clips come out of it. Limits reset at the start of each billing period. The pricing page has the comparison.
Publishing problems
If a scheduled clip did not go out, check the post in the scheduler first: a failed publish records the reason the platform gave.
- Reconnect needed. Platforms expire or revoke tokens, sometimes after a password change on their side. Disconnect and reconnect the channel in Settings.
- Daily upload limit. YouTube caps how many videos an application may upload per day. A post refused for quota stays in the queue and goes out later rather than being thrown away.
- Rejected by the platform. Length, file size and aspect ratio all have limits that differ per platform, and the scheduler shows which one a clip breaches before you queue it.
We attempt a publish once. If it may have partly succeeded we report it as failed rather than retrying automatically, because a blind retry can put a duplicate on your real channel. Retrying is a button, and it is yours to press.
Privacy and data requests
Most of it you can do yourself: correcting details in Settings, deleting a project, disconnecting a channel, or deleting the whole account. See Delete your data for each route, and the privacy policy for what we hold and why.

Copyright reports
Email support@platechecks.com with the subject "Copyright report" and include:
- the work you own and where it can be seen;
- the ClippingSpace share link or page where the infringing material appears;
- your name, contact details, and a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised;
- a statement that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
We remove infringing material promptly and terminate accounts that repeatedly infringe. Note that clips are made from video the user supplied: if the material is on a public platform, that platform's own reporting tools reach it too.
Security disclosure
If you have found a vulnerability, email support@platechecks.com with "Security" in the subject and enough detail to reproduce it. We will acknowledge within two working days and keep you updated until it is fixed.
Please do not run automated scanners against the service, access data that is not yours, or degrade it for other users while testing. We will not pursue anyone who reports a genuine issue in good faith and gives us a reasonable chance to fix it before going public.
